Relevant Experience
Activity has always been an important part of my life. Many active experiences, such as growing up in the Northwest, exploring the nature around our house at Milo Academy, playing intramurals, working at Big Lake Youth Camp and attending Walla Walla College, have led me to RAA. Although my degree was in Construction and Business I found myself most drawn to helping kids enjoy new experiences such as learning to swim and waterski. When we moved to Loma Linda after college I was the Aquatics Director at the new LLU Drayson Center for the first five years, developing the Aquatics programs and teaching Red Cross classes. We spent a year in Kettering, Ohio for Lori’s internship and I taught contract classes there for the Red Cross. When we moved back to Loma Linda for her residency I worked at Loma Linda Academy helping coordinate after school activities for the Kid’s University Program and Summer Camps. While at LLA I started looking into getting a teaching credential and began moving in that direction substitute teaching at Loma Linda Academy and then I spent a year substitute teaching for the Redlands Unified School District. The last 14 years at Redlands Adventist Academy I have enjoyed teaching Elementary, Junior High, and High School Physical Education, been a class sponsor, ski club sponsor, driven a boat for class trips, coached the MTB Team, driven the bus for field trips, chaperoned the 6th Grade Yosemite Trip, 8th Grade Washington DC Trip, Sophomore Biology Trip, and have helped watch the water on beach trips. Teaching at RAA has been an amazing experience and I feel called to make the biggest difference in the lives of elementary students, teaching them life lessons that go beyond games and sports. Showing students I care and that Jesus loves them is what I want to reflect at Redlands Adventist Academy.

Additional RAA Responsibilities
CPR and First-Aid Certification, Graphic Design, and encouragement of healthy activities like the Running Club, MTB Team, and Triathlon/5k participation.

Interests
I enjoy cycling, radio controlled hobbies, woodworking, live theatre, drawing, hockey, and collecting family memories – boogie boarding, snowboarding, sailing, and rafting. For the past few years I have helped kids enjoy riding bikes in Redlands and my family has volunteered at Big Lake Youth Camp coordinating the MTB Rad Camp, sharing area trails with kids near Bend, Oregon. Although the Northwest has been a special place for my family, I have also taken trips to Whistler, Canada, National Parks – Yosemite, Arches, Sedona, Moab, Lassen, Washington DC, California Beaches, Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and a Mission trip to Kenya, Africa. Some of my most special times are sharing nature riding along white water rivers with family and friends or looking up at the stars in Central Oregon.

Favorite Bible Text
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV
